Thanks so much for stopping by. My hope is that you will be encouraged and comforted by traveling with us on this adventure as you see how God can take the challenges of life to assure us of the living hope that is available by faith to us all through Jesus Christ.

Thanks, also, to each of you who have personally ministered to me and my family through your thoughts, prayers of faith, visits, messages, many acts of kindness and words of encouragement, especially during those dark days, and then for the long haul during my extended recovery season.

Perfect Peace

You will keep Him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.  Isaiah 26:3

"Peace on earth, good will to men" is a familiar refrain that we hear during the Christmas season.  How much peace did you experience today in the hustle and bustle of life? What a special opportunity we Christians have to represent Jesus in a world of turmoil as we rely on the peace that only He can give to us.

Hu experienced a tough day today.  He says he felt like he ran a marathon.  Even though his body is so tired he continues to have God's peace in his life.

  1. Dear Sherril and Hu,

I had flan tonight and thought of you. Yours was MUCH better than what I had. :) Your comments on here are so uplifting and encouraging. Thank you for sharing so honestly from your heart. Don and I continue to lift you two up to the Throne of Grace daily. We are asking God to restore Hu's strength, lung capacity, and ability to swallow. We are praying for strength for you, Sherril, as you minister to Hu in his recovery and rehabilitation.

We have such fond memories of wonderful times with you guys. Love and blessings at Christmas and always,
    Cathi

  2. Dear Sherril,

Thank you so much for your faithfulness in keeping all of us informed about Hu's progress. I'm sure there are many of us who continue to lift you both up to our Father each day and your updates are helpful. James 5:16b is a crucial verse to me: every prayer matters. Every prayer makes a difference even though we can't see the results with our eyes right away. We walk by faith not by sight. Thanks for giving us what we need to pray intelligently for you and Hu.

I understand how frustratingly slow progress can be. Since my vocal cord operation, I have learned to measure my progress by weeks not by days. When I look back yesterday or the day before, I see no progress. When I look back last month, I can see some progress. When I look back five months, I see great progress. May God give you the encouragement and strength you need each day as He does what He wills in Hu's life. We are with you.

May you have a meaningful Christmas during this difficult time.

    Grace and peace,

    Cliff

  3. SO reminded of how God extends far and beyond our lives, the messages we have lived. When we lived in Wisconsin in the 1980's, I listened to J. Allen Blair's sermons on the radio. For me, they were pure gold that encouraged me during a difficult family time. God's networking is SO profound and He truly keeps His promises that none of His Word (that we faithfully give out) will return void.
Thanks to all of you, Sherril, Hu and family for going on in faith, extending Dr. Blair's message.
