Traditions are an important part of a family. One of the our most significant Christmas traditions has been making and using Chrismons. The word is a contraction of Christ and monogram. They are Christan symbols which remind us of some attribute of Christ which along with small white lights are the only decorations on our Christmas tree. Many years ago my mother introduced us to the concept of Chrismons and it has made our Christmas celebration more meaningful as we focus on Christ, the real meaning of Christmas.
I am grateful to be able to spend another Christmas with Hu after his difficult medical journey during these recent weeks. We feel blessed that his health is gradually improving and that he has the opportunity to continue in rehab.
Our prayer for you today is whatever your family traditions are that your focus will be on Christ, Emmauel, God with us.
(ad-ven-ture: the encountering of danger; an unusual, stirring experience)
Thanks so much for stopping by. My hope is that you will be encouraged and comforted by traveling with us on this adventure as you see how God can take the challenges of life to assure us of the living hope that is available by faith to us all through Jesus Christ.
Thanks, also, to each of you who have personally ministered to me and my family through your thoughts, prayers of faith, visits, messages, many acts of kindness and words of encouragement, especially during those dark days, and then for the long haul during my extended recovery season.
