The next day John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29
The night before Hu's first surgery a "young friend" stopped by and gave Hu a stuffed lamb. She said, "I know this is so not Hu but I wanted to him to have this. When I was in college I was into symbolism and hope that he will find meaning in this too". The purpose of the lamb is to remind us of Jesus, the Lamb of God. How easy it is to lose sight of the fact that Jesus is always with us whether we "feel" like it or not. The lamb has been in various parts of the hospital as we have moved about from room to room. I hope you and I both remember today that "the Lamb" is with us. I think of Peter when he walked on the water toward Jesus and took his eyes off Jesus then he got into trouble. I need to keep my eyes on Jesus all the time!
This morning Hu sat up in a wheelchair for 2 1/2 hours, worked on his arm exercises and did a little reading. He continues to be extremely weak and that much exertion wore him out. The goal by tomorrow evening is for him to sit up a total of 6 hours during a day. It is amazing what we take for granted.
Thanks for your prayer support. It has meant so much to our family.
(ad-ven-ture: the encountering of danger; an unusual, stirring experience)
Thanks so much for stopping by. My hope is that you will be encouraged and comforted by traveling with us on this adventure as you see how God can take the challenges of life to assure us of the living hope that is available by faith to us all through Jesus Christ.
Thanks, also, to each of you who have personally ministered to me and my family through your thoughts, prayers of faith, visits, messages, many acts of kindness and words of encouragement, especially during those dark days, and then for the long haul during my extended recovery season.

Love the story of the stuffed lamb; what a great reminder! You know, sometimes I don't even feel like sitting up for 6 hours in a day!:) I'm really shocked at how quickly they are moving him through - but it sounds like he is handling it wonderfully! Can't wait to hear how it goes! Thanks for keeping us updated! It sure has been nice to have these wonderful reminders of God's grace and goodness as he works through Hu!
ReplyDeleteI know Hu is a fighter and a very brave man! His tenacity and courage are so encouraging to me as I read this blog. Don and I continue to pray for all of you regularly. Much love in Christ our Lord,
