But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matt. 6:33
I've been amazed today by the numerous inquires by folks as to "How was your Christmas?" It seems to be a common greeting and one that the expected reply is how did you spent your day and how was the food? It is so easy to get caught up in that trap of considering things of this world to be so important in our lives that we miss the main reason of why we celebrate Christmas.
We were touched to have some visitors yesterday (knowing they were coming) I said to Hu, "Who goes to visit people in the hospital on Christmas?" It just hasn't been something that had crossed my mind to do. I was amazed at the families that had multiple generations gather together for a time of celebration here in rehab bringing gifts and a meal to share. No doubt there were others though that were alone during the day.
One thing that has been an example to me during Hu's hospitalization has been the many ways that people have found to be an encouragement and help to us. What a blessing that has been!
Hu has had a bit of a lighter day with physical therapy today. However, he seems to be gaining endurance day by day. Tomorrow morning he has a swallow test so we will appreciate your prayers for that. His weight continues to be an issue so remember that in your prayers, as well, that as he regains his strength his weight will also be restored.

Thanks so much for stopping by. My hope is that you will be encouraged and comforted by traveling with us on this adventure as you see how God can take the challenges of life to assure us of the living hope that is available by faith to us all through Jesus Christ.
Thanks, also, to each of you who have personally ministered to me and my family through your thoughts, prayers of faith, visits, messages, many acts of kindness and words of encouragement, especially during those dark days, and then for the long haul during my extended recovery season.
