Grace, the unmerited favor of God, was our topic in our ladies' Bible study this morning. How amazing it is to realize that Jesus paid the price for my sins and as a result I have the gift of eternal life just by accepting His free gift. Often I have heard the statement, "by the grace of God...," but many times I don't really think about what God's grace has done for me. Not only has it shaped my life here on earth but for eternity. He continues to shower His grace on me even though I don't deserve it.
I believe that many of the kind and helpful gestures that we have been recipients of in recent months are from folks who are living out their faith in Jesus in practical ways. Hu and I have learned many things since his hospitalization in November but one of them is how important it is for us to share God's goodness and grace with others that don't know about it.
I promised to post a weekly update on Wednesday and somehow I thought Thursday was Wednesday last week. Now this week I thought it was Tuesday. Hopefully, I can get it right next week!
Monday, Hu walked down the street seven houses with his therapist. That was a record thus far. They try to stretch it a little more each time. I kept watching for them to come back since it seemed they were gone so long I was getting worried. This therapist has given him a list of varied exercises that he can choose from each day to work different muscles groups. This has been a huge help since he was really getting tired of walking laps around the house each day for exercise. We are so thankful for the daily strength that the Lord gives him.
For if one man’s
offense meant that men should be slaves to death all their lives, it is a
far greater thing that through another man, Jesus Christ, men by their
acceptance of his more than sufficient grace and righteousness, should
live all their lives like kings! Rom. 5:17
(ad-ven-ture: the encountering of danger; an unusual, stirring experience)
Thanks so much for stopping by. My hope is that you will be encouraged and comforted by traveling with us on this adventure as you see how God can take the challenges of life to assure us of the living hope that is available by faith to us all through Jesus Christ.
Thanks, also, to each of you who have personally ministered to me and my family through your thoughts, prayers of faith, visits, messages, many acts of kindness and words of encouragement, especially during those dark days, and then for the long haul during my extended recovery season.
