Thanks so much for stopping by. My hope is that you will be encouraged and comforted by traveling with us on this adventure as you see how God can take the challenges of life to assure us of the living hope that is available by faith to us all through Jesus Christ.

Thanks, also, to each of you who have personally ministered to me and my family through your thoughts, prayers of faith, visits, messages, many acts of kindness and words of encouragement, especially during those dark days, and then for the long haul during my extended recovery season.

Strength?

As I was reading in 2 Chronicles this morning about Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, the phrase, "His heart was devoted to the ways of the Lord," stood out to me.  It made me think about Hu's comment yesterday when he was having a particularly difficult day.  At lunch when he thanked the Lord for the food he also thanked Him for the strength that He had given us for the day.  When he finished, I said, "Strength?"  (implying, "What strength?")  His reply was, "Well, I was able to come downstairs to eat," which he had not been able to do just a couple of months ago.  He continues to be thankful even during the hard days.

Hu's time for the neighborhood walk is getting shorter for the same distance and the therapist was impressed that he seems to be walking faster.  Yesterday, he went to the gym to work out on several of the machines.  It wears him out but hopefully it is increasing his stamina and muscle tone.  We hope that soon he will begin lung therapy to work on improving his breathing.

We appreciate your continued interest in his progress and your prayers for him that he will continue to be devoted to what the Lord has for Him in this journey.

I will praise you forever for what you have done; in your name I will hope, for your name is good.  Psalm 52:9 a,b

  1. Dear Sherrill,
I really enjoy reading your posts and Don and I continue to lift you and Hu to the Throne on a regular basis. Thank you for writing faithfully to keep us abreast of Hu's recuperation. Wish we lived closer so we could visit occassionally.
    With love,
    Cathi
